Frequently asked questions
Are the gel drinks suitable for vegans and vegetarians?
Are the gel drinks Halal certified?
Are the gel drinks Kosher certified?
How much aloe should I drink?
This depends on your reasons for drinking aloe. As with other nutritional supplements, some people take a small amount each morning – up to 2fl oz (60ml) – to maintain their general well being. Other people boost their intake for specific reasons – when they might drink up to 3 fl oz (90ml) a day.
Some people, such as the elderly, need less whereas those who are larger framed need more.
When is the best time to drink aloe?
We would recommend you take the aloe on an empty stomach to get the maximum benefit.
How should I store the drink?
As with most natural foods, once you’ve opened the bottle, it should be stored in the fridge with the lid tightly closed. Of course during storage, the natural pulp will settle, so you should always shake the bottle before use. Note that the date stamped on the bottom of the container is the bottling date. The ‘use by’ date is on a label on the lid.
Does the gel have preservatives?
No. The new aseptic processing used at both our farms and through manufacturing allows us to produce a stabilised dinner leaf aloe vera gel without the use of preservatives and additives.
Is the gel stabilised?
Yes. The new aseptically processed gel is stabilised through pH adjustments. Our stabilisation process helps to ensure the natural components of aloe are maintained in levels that are as close to the fresh plant as possible, and it also helps protect the aloe from oxidation and breakdown that can occur during transport.
Are the gel drinks certified by the International Aloe Science Council (IASC)?
Yes. The IASC certification from the International Aloe Science Council is a symbol of quality. Only products that contain at least 15% aloe and in which that aloe meets the strict quality requirements of the IASC can bear the IASC mark. Forever Living’s Forever Aloe Vera Gel was the first aloe product to obtain this certification years ago and our new aloe gel drinks in Tetra Pak have all achieved this esteemed certification to set our aloe apart from its competitors. In fact, our stabilised inner leaf aloe vera gel used in each of our aloe drinks far exceeds the minimum requirements for certification. Our stabilised aloe vera gel contains approximately double the amount of acemannan required for certification and continues to meet all quality requirements for purity, potency and composition.
What is acemannan?
Acemannan is a polysaccharide that is exclusive to aloe vera. This polysaccharide has been studied extensively and scientists attribute many of aloe’s benefits to this unique component of aloe. Acemannan is one of the key components tested by the IASC to identify quality aloe as part of its certification programme. Forever Living’s stabilised aloe vera gel has nearly double the amount of acemannan required for certification.
