By Kate Hodge , added to Forever Knowledge on 31/07/2019 . Posted here 21/08/2020

Getting your hands-on high-quality nutrients isn’t always an easy task, particularly when it’s rare you have the time to cook a proper, balanced meal that’s rich in the perfect measures of fruit, veg, meat, fish and legumes!

While nutritional supplements should never replace a healthy, balanced diet, they can offer essential support, helping to plug any nutritional gaps that your diet may fail to fill. This month we’ve been encouraging you to mix your 330ml Forever Aloe Vera Gel with Argi+ and for a limited time we are selling a special Argi+ and Aloe Mini Tripack. We believe these products work together to give you powerful nutrition and just what you need to plug nutritional gaps this summer. Read on to find out how.

Vitamin D

Argi+ is high in vitamin D and gives you 100% of your RDI which is brilliant, especially if you’ve been a bit of a sun hermit during the recent heatwave. We get most of our vitamin D intake from the sun which is why Public Heath England recommends that the UK population – that’s everyone over the age of one-year – take a vitamin D supplement, especially in the autumn and winter. Despite this advice, according to a recent report based on data from the National Diet and Nutrition Survey, the majority of the UK are deficient in vitamin D and intake has actually declined by 22%.

Vitamin D is an essential vitamin as it contributes to the maintenance of normal bones, teeth and muscles. It also plays a role in immunity, contributing to the normal function of the immune system. Vitamin D also has a role in the process of cell division and it’s essential for ensuring normal blood calcium levels.

If you’re not a fan of the sun, foods to add to your shopping list include fatty fish, beef liver and some mushrooms, but if you’re after something a little fruitier you’ll love the sweet berry flavour of Argi+.

Vitamin C

Everyone’s favourite vitamin is found in many nutritionally rich foods, so if you like fruit and veg you won’t fall short of the 80mg you need every day. However, less than a third of adults manage to eat their five-a-day and this could mean your vitamin C intake takes a hit. Thankfully both Argi+ and Forever Aloe Vera Gel are high in vitamin C, and if you mix an Argi+ sachet with our 330ml gel, you will receive a massive 264.8mg of the stuff! While this may seem like a lot, if you are planning on participating in some intense exercise, you’ll need to consume 280mg of vitamin C to ensure it contributes to maintain the normal function of the immune system during and after the exercise – you don’t want to catch a summer cold if your exercise makes you feel run down!

Vitamin C is also beneficial for normal collagen formation, as it contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue and increases iron absorption.

Vitamin B12

While most other nutrients are gained from your fruits and vegetables, vitamin B12 is mainly found in meat, fish, eggs and dairy. Vegans and vegetarians are therefore at risk of developing a vitamin B12 deficiency and may find themselves lacking in energy or unable to concentrate, but even people who do eat meat may find themselves at risk. Deficiency in vitamin B12 can lead to a type of anaemia that affects red blood cells, the cells that carry oxygen around the body. Ensuring you get enough B12 is important because it also contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, normal red blood cell formation, normal psychological function and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Argi+ contains 100% of your recommended daily intake (RDI) of vitamin B12.

Folate

Intake of folate (vitamin B9) has fallen by 10% in recent years which is worrying since this B vitamin offers a variety of benefits, particularly for women of child-bearing age. Folate also contributes to normal psychological function and to normal amino acid synthesis.

According to the findings of the National Diet and Nutrition Survey, the majority of the UK population do not know which foods contain folate. 34% incorrectly thought that oily fish was a good source, but this is actually false. Foods to turn to that are rich in folate include leafy greens, legumes, citrus fruits, beetroot and asparagus. Argi+ also contains 200μg of folate which is 100% of your RDI.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is found in a variety of foods including white meat, fish, wholegrain cereal and vegetables. You can usually gain all you need from these foods but if you are deficient in another B vitamin, you may also find that you’re deficient in B6. B6 plays a role in over 150 enzyme reactions in the body, helping you to process protein, carbs and fat. It plays a role in your metabolism, but it also contributes to the normal functioning of the nervous system, normal red blood cell formation and to the regulation of hormonal activity. Simply adding one sachet of Argi+, which is rich in vitamin B6, to your Forever Aloe Vera Gel, will give you 100% of your B6 RDI.

L-Arginine

L-arginine, where Argi+ gets its name, is an amino acid and a building block for proteins. When protein is digested, amino acids are left behind and the body uses these to assist with various bodily functions. Our bodies can naturally produce l-arginine, but you can also get it from your diet in foods like red meat, fish, dairy and eggs, although the amount gained is relatively low. Argi+ is a great source of l-arginine and every 10g sachet contains 5g of l-arginine.

Aloe Vera

We may be a bit bias here – we are after all The Aloe Vera Company – but aloe vera is simply incredible! It’s crammed with nutritional benefits and is recognised as an effective digestive aid. Aloe is also great for immune support, for skin health and overall wellbeing – it just makes you feel amazing! Our aloe is not like any old aloe, we only use pure inner leaf aloe vera gel. Our 330ml Forever Aloe Vera Gel – which we recommend you mix with a sachet of Argi+ – contains 99.7% pure aloe gel. The gel, which is extracted from the aloe leaf, is where all the goodness lies. We grow our aloe on our own plantations and hand fillet each leaf by hand to ensure we get every last drop of nutritious gel goodness. It’s honestly just what you need!
