Below, Jeannie gives us an insight into the ingredients in Forever’s Targeted skincare range and gives advice on how you can implement these brilliant products into your existing skincare routine to help you look and feel better.

One of the biggest global skincare trends in the last few years is moving to unique products that meet the bespoke needs of an individual.

Several years ago, Forever made a forward-thinking move to revitalise and reinvent many of its skin care products.  The result was the Sonya Daily Skincare Kit for oily and combination skin and the Infinite by Forever Advanced Skincare System for dry and mature skin.  With our flagship ingredient aloe vera as the top ingredient in many of our skincare products, these products can be mixed and matched depending on your skin type.

But instead of creating too many products within those two systems, Forever established a range that sat in between the two that would provide a compliment to each skincare line.  The Targeted range purposed to hold products that customers could pick and choose depending on their needs, concerns and preferences offering ‘extra’s that can be used on a daily or as needed basis.

Here is a current look at this fantastic line of complementary products.

Awaking Eye Cream

Thanks to peptide technology, collagen and other powerful ingredients, this advanced eye cream smooths and firms delicate under-eye skin to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness. Peptides promote the production of collagen, which reduces as we age, and we can apply this topically to combat signs of premature ageing.  The ingredients include the cutting-edge albizia julibrissin bark extract with darutoside, otherwise known as the Persian silk tree, which nourishes and replenishes.  This non-greasy formula can be applied as needed and targets the upper eyelid and the delicate skin around the eye to brighten and lift. Thanks to hydrating properties that reduce water loss, eyes appear rested, alert and renewed.

How I use Awakening Eye Cream: I love this product on my hooded eyelids after a short night’s sleep.

Balancing Toner

Combination skin fluctuates between dry and oily when the skin is out of balance due to Ph levels, or when the acid mantle - the delicate top layer of the skin - is damaged.  Balancing Toner addresses both by bringing skin into balance to refresh and rehydrate. It’s designed to be applied after cleansing to remove excess dirt, minimise the appearance of pores and hydrate the skin before moisturising. It also contains a unique blend of seaweed extract and a form of hyaluronic acid, dubbed the ‘molecular sponge’, thanks to its water attracting properties. When combined, these powerful ingredients moisturise and soften skin to reveal a youthful-looking complexion. Cucumber extract soothes the skin and provides additional hydration before it’s moisturised, while white tea extract, high in antioxidants, works with the ample concentration of aloe to balance the skin.

How I use Balancing Toner: I tend to use this toner several times a week after my night-time cleanser, especially if I have been wearing a lot of makeup or sunscreen, or if I just need extra hydration.

Smoothing Exfoliator

This product helps your skin look brighter by removing debris and dead skin cells. Although the body naturally gets rid of 30,000 to 40,000 old skin cells every single day, sometimes it needs a little assistance as old skin can look flaky, tired and dull. Instead of artificial microbeads, Jojoba beads gently roll across the skin to remove debris while sustainably sourced Korean bamboo powder, a large granule that doesn’t scratch the skin, sweeps the skin to remove dead skin cells. Enzymatic extracts resurface the skin from bromelain (from pineapple), papain (unripe papaya) and moisturising lemon essential oil. Papain, from papaya, is a rich source of vitamins C, A, E and pantothenic acid to help the skin appear renewed. Regular exfoliation paves the way for other products to perform, as it removes the barrier of dead skin cells allowing key ingredients from other topical products to be better absorbed. Exfoliation is recommended 2-3 times a week in a skincare routine, though with men it can be used daily to help promote a closer shave.

How I use Smoothing Exfoliator: As well as being great for the face, I really enjoy using this as a foot scrub when I do a pamper night.

Protecting Day Lotion

Protecting Day Lotion combines natural mineral sunscreens, titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, in a unique dispersion system to help it blend well while protecting you from signs of premature ageing caused by UV rays. This sun protection product goes on top of your favourite moisturiser, contains over twenty skin-conditioning ingredients and shields your skin from harmful UV rays due to its SPF 20. The natural mineral sunscreen contains key ingredients, including aloe vera, watermelon extract and plant extracts, to help fight against oxidative processes, improve skin’s tone and texture and provide ultimate hydration.  The Crambe plant, native to the Mediterranean region, has an unusually high amount of fatty acids found in its oil, which improve skin’s tone and texture while being absorbed easily.  As a stable and long lasting seed oil full of nourishing omega-9 fatty acids, it rapidly penetrates the outer layers of the epidermis, deeply nourishing the skin while providing a smooth, soft layer of protection against dehydration.  Anastatica Hierochuntica, or the Jerusalem Resurrection Plant, has an astounding ability to survive lengthy periods of arid, dry climates, and within hours, resurrect itself with hydration. We captured this quality to finish off this formula.

How I use Protecting Day Lotion: I love wearing this daily on top of my normal skincare routine to add protection from UVA rays that cause signs of premature ageing.

Aloe Activator

Aloe Activator is a unique moisturiser in liquid form featuring over 98% aloe vera gel. This simple formula uses the power of aloe to leave skin feeling refreshed and soothed from the moment it touches your face. The high concentration of aloe makes Aloe Activator an ideal addition to any skincare routine.  Also, combined in a 50/50 ratio with the mask powder, it makes an excellent hydrating yet cleansing facial mask.

How I use Aloe Activator: I have this as a first aid ‘go-to’ and also as a nourishing treat in my skincare routine.

Bio-cellulose Mask

As a premium level, science-created mask, its bio-cellulose fibres fit the contours of your face to deeply moisturise and to ensure every impressive botanical penetrates the fine lines and wrinkles traditional sheet masks fail to reach. Through a process unique to Forever, Aloe Bio-Cellulose Mask’s formula fuses pure aloe and seagrass with the bio-cellulose fabric to soothe, soften and condition skin. This environmentally friendly, biodegradable mask has also been enriched by a moisturising serum of green tea and horse chestnut that rejuvenates dull skin by combating the signs of ageing and reducing the appearance of redness. Serums are known to have high amounts of power-packed ingredients to complement the moisturisers in your routine, so this premium grade, serum-infused mask provides lasting hydration in concentrated levels.  And, as an added bonus, there are two cut out eye pieces which you can remove and place over the lips for extra hydration, as well as extra serum in the package for the ends of your hair or other dry places on your skin.

How I use Aloe Bio-Cellulose Mask: This is a family favourite with my teen daughter, and we love to use this after a stressful work or school week.

And drum roll please for the newest addition to our Targeted range...

Hydrating Serum

Aren’t we excited to see a beautiful new upgrade to the formerly classic Sonya Serum that so many FBOs loved in the past?  This serum exponentially boosts the efficacy of your favourite Forever moisturisers with its hydrating and moisturising botanicals and oils. It boasts of four different forms of hyaluronic acid to provide a protective dense film on the skin’s surface and rapid absorption into layers of the skin. Helping to replace and reduce essential water loss in the skin, this new formula also provides anti-pollution support.  Snow mushroom, white tea, mimosa bark and olive oils add powerful antioxidant protection while tamarind has been shown to improve hydration, reduce the appearance of rough, dry skin and promote skin elasticity. Layered under your moisturiser, the Hydrating Serum also uses coconut fatty acids and shea butter that gives a light, easily absorbed feel to help your skin feel plump and hydrated while combating environmental stressors and signs of premature ageing. I’m really looking forward to using this on my dry, tired skin when it comes out later this summer.
